General Questions

What is GRID?

GRID is a non-custodial automated trading bot that provides liquidity on Solana's Orca DEX. When you sign up, GRID creates an encrypted Solana wallet just for you - only accessible with your password. The bot uses sophisticated grid trading strategies with delta hedging on Drift Protocol to generate trading fees while managing directional risk. You can export your private keys anytime and import them into any wallet.

Is this too good to be true? Why are returns so high?

High returns in DeFi come from taking on risks that traditional finance avoids. GRID generates returns through:

  • Real trading fees: Earning from actual market activity, not token emissions
  • Capital efficiency: Concentrated liquidity earns 10-100x more than traditional AMMs
  • Volatility capture: Profiting from market volatility through automated rebalancing
  • No middleman: Direct access to DEX trading fees without traditional broker costs

Important: These returns carry real risks including smart contract failures, extreme market conditions, and technical issues. Only deposit what you can afford to lose.

How can I verify this is legitimate?

GRID is designed for maximum transparency and verifiability:

  • Your wallet, your keys: You can export your private keys anytime and import into Phantom, Solflare, etc.
  • Password encryption: Your wallet is encrypted - only you can decrypt it with your password
  • On-chain verification: Every position and trade can be verified on Solana explorer
  • Real positions: Monitor actual positions on Orca DEX and Drift Protocol in real-time

Red flags to avoid: Promises of guaranteed returns, requests for seed phrases, custodial requirements, or pressure to deposit quickly.

How is GRID different from other DeFi yield products?

GRID combines several unique features:

  • Non-custodial: Your funds stay in your wallet, not in a protocol
  • Delta-managed strategy: Reduces directional market risk through hedging
  • Dynamic grid trading: Adapts to market volatility in real-time
  • Multi-position system: Multiple specialized positions optimize fee capture
  • Fully automated: 24/7 operation with no manual intervention required

Who is behind GRID?

Using GRID

What returns can I expect?

GRID targets approximately 0.2% daily fee yield (73% APY when compounded), but actual returns vary based on:

  • Market volatility (higher volatility = more trading = more fees)
  • Trading volume on Orca DEX
  • Hedging costs (funding rates on Drift)
  • Overall market conditions

Important: Past performance does not guarantee future results. Returns are not guaranteed.

How are fees generated?

Fees come from providing liquidity on Orca DEX:

  1. 1. Liquidity Provision: The bot provides your SOL and USDC as liquidity to trading pairs on Orca

  2. 2. Fee Collection: Every trade that goes through your liquidity earns fees (0.01% - 0.30%)

  3. 3. Automatic Compounding: Fees are automatically reinvested to compound returns

  4. 4. Delta Hedging: Simultaneously, hedge positions on Drift offset directional exposure

What is the minimum deposit?

The recommended minimum is $50 USD equivalent in SOL or USDC. This ensures optimal position sizing and covers network fees for operations. You can add more funds anytime with no minimum increment.

Are there any fees?

GRID currently has no management or performance fees during the growth phase:

  • No management fees: 0% fee on deposits
  • No performance fees: 100% of trading fees go to you (current phase)
  • Network fees only: ~$0.00025 per transaction on Solana (paid from your account)

Future: Fees may be introduced as the service scales. Any changes will be announced in advance.

Technical Questions

What is grid trading?

GRID uses concentrated liquidity positions at multiple price ranges (a "grid"). As the price moves up and down, these positions capture trading fees. GRID enhances this with:

  • Dynamic range adjustment based on volatility
  • Multiple position types for different market conditions
  • Automatic rebalancing when positions move out of range

What does "delta-managed" mean?

Delta-managed means the strategy actively manages directional exposure. When you provide liquidity, you become exposed to price movements. GRID uses perpetual futures on Drift Protocol to offset (hedge) this exposure:

  1. 1. LP positions: Earn fees but create directional exposure
  2. 2. Hedge positions: Offset exposure using Drift perpetuals
  3. 3. Continuous adjustment: Bot maintains target hedge ratio

This aims to profit from trading fees regardless of whether SOL price goes up or down.

How does the multi-position system work?

Tight Position (40% capital)

Concentrated range for high-frequency fee capture near current price

Central Position (30% capital)

Medium range for balanced risk/reward

Wide Position (15% capital)

Wide range for market coverage during volatility

Safe Position (5% capital)

Maximum range for extreme market moves

How often does the system rebalance?

Rebalancing occurs based on market conditions:

  • Volatility regime trigger: Significant change in realized volatility
  • Position out of range: When price moves outside position boundaries
  • Safety limits: Maximum 6 rebalances per day
  • Minimum interval: 20 minutes between rebalances

Risk & Security

What are the main risks?

Key risks include:

  • Smart Contract Risk: Potential bugs in Orca or Drift protocols

    Mitigation: Using battle-tested, audited protocols
  • Market Risk: Extreme volatility or black swan events

Mitigation: Delta hedging, position limits, circuit breakers
  • Technical Risk: Bot downtime or errors

    Mitigation: Actor-based architecture, automatic recovery
  • Hedging Risk: Hedge may not perfectly offset LP exposure

Mitigation: Continuous monitoring, adaptive hedge ratios

Who controls my funds?

GRID is non-custodial - here's how:

  • Your wallet, your keys: GRID creates a wallet encrypted with your password - we never see or store your keys
  • Export anytime: Request your private keys and import into Phantom, Solflare, or any Solana wallet
  • Password-protected: Only you can decrypt the wallet with your password
  • Full control: Stop the bot, withdraw funds, or take full self-custody anytime

What happens if the bot goes offline?

Your positions remain on-chain even if the bot is offline:

  • LP positions: Continue earning fees on Orca (as long as in range)
  • Hedge positions: Remain open on Drift
  • Auto-recovery: Bot syncs with on-chain state when restarted
  • Manual close: You can close positions manually via Orca/Drift interfaces

Deposits & Withdrawals

How do I withdraw my funds?

To withdraw:

  1. 1. Request withdrawal through the dashboard
  2. 2. Bot closes your positions proportionally
  3. 3. Funds return to your wallet immediately
  4. 4. You can also revoke access and close positions manually

Is there a lock-up period?

No. You can withdraw anytime:

  • No minimum holding period
  • No withdrawal fees or penalties
  • No approval delays - it's your wallet
  • Revocable trading authority at any moment

Do I need an existing wallet?

No! GRID creates a new Solana wallet for you when you sign up:

  • Auto-generated: A fresh wallet is created and encrypted with your password
  • Fund from anywhere: Send SOL/USDC from any exchange (Coinbase, Binance, etc.) or wallet
  • Export keys: Request your private keys anytime to import into Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, or Ledger
  • Full ownership: It's your wallet - use it however you want
